Who knew people willingly CHOOSE to do this (like, every week)?! π

Hiii Dabblers!
This issues (series of fortunate) events are a bit different (not just limited to this week), inspired by the lovely β¨Eileenβ¨ - one half of the force behind (my fave recent hobbsession)Εtautahi Preloved Clothing Markets... RUNNING! π
I knowww, you've got opinions (and so do I), but, dare I say it, she makes a solid case. I almost want to get up early on Sat...
I'd say it's more a hobby than a sport- what do you think? Hobby? Sport? Both? (Spobby?) Neither?
Either way, time to grab your gymmies and read on the runnn (not literally, trip hazard, yo...)
C.x β¨
CELEBRATING RAD PEOPLE DOING RAD THINGS (that's you)
π Name: Eileen
π Whatβs your hobby/current obsession? Parkrun
π§ Fuel of choice while dabbling: Empty stomach for this one!
π "My holy grail tool/material/gear I canβt live without, is ___"? A good pair of running shoes
π Fave local spot to get your fix: Broad Park parkrun
π π»ββοΈ Whatβs something people assume about your hobby β and are absolutely wrong about? That you have to be a runner to participate. This is the biggest myth. parkrun is made for runners, joggers, walkers, volunteers and everyone in between. The volunteer roles span from tail-walking and marshalling to barcode scanning, time-keeping and token sorting. There's heaps of tasks to pick from, you just need to show up.
π‘ Your top tip or one piece of advice for someone wanting to dabble? Just turn up at any parkrun. Saturday 8am. There are now 7 in Canterbury, so plenty of choice and a variety of tracks.
π What does this hobby give you that "normal" life doesnβt? Health, fitness and energy. A friendly, social community. Sightseeing around the world. Fun and themed runs. I used to absolutely despise running, parkrun is the reason I've now participated in my first marathon and two half marathons last year and supported me to attain a PB of 22mins 37secs! Would love to beat that PB again one day.

Kia Ora Dabblers! Hope your weekβs been swell and youβve been knee-deep in something terrifyingly new?! Or perhaps re-living something from a previous life?! (apparently rainbow fluffy ugg boots are cool again and so therefore I was cool for loving them when I sold them at Hannahs, like 23~ years ago?!) [for context; Y2K clothing market round-up from Sat, read below] Iβm curious- whatβs either; your longest-standing hobby, or something youβve revived from the archives? Reply and lemme know! π...

Hellooooo my darling Dabblers! I choose to believe you thought about me at least once over the last couple of weeks- probably at 12:12pm when you realised your inbox was lonely (dabbleless? dabbless?), then immediately forgot when you realised your mouth was lonely (snackless? (what's that Japanese word again?)). I also choose to believe that you were busy gallivanting! hurkle-durkling! nanty narking!? Which I'm totally OK with. No, honestly, I encourage! Nay, I insist! I just needed a...
