🍵 Matcha Cups, healing guts and shakin’ butts 🕺

Kia Ora Dabblers!

Hope your week’s been swell and you’ve been knee-deep in something terrifyingly new?!

Or perhaps re-living something from a previous life?! (apparently rainbow fluffy ugg boots are cool again and so therefore I was cool for loving them when I sold them at Hannahs, like 23~ years ago?!) [for context; Y2K clothing market round-up from Sat, read below]

I’m curious- what’s either; your longest-standing hobby, or something you’ve revived from the archives? Reply and lemme know! 💛

If you don’t already have something booked for Saturday, there’s a BUNCH on! Pick one or pack in as much as you can.
Catch you out there 😘

If you recall (totes fine if you don't), I recently started dabbling in preloved clothing markets, and made a couple of new friends, which is low-key the entire point of being an adult and doing hobbies… 😉

One of those people was ✨Marlon from Re.Ztyled✨- who mentioned he was in the throes of organising his own market inside a pretty neat building he knew of. Cut to Saturday and, holy PlayboyXWallstreet Wolf orgy, this “80s Barbie mansion” was INCREDIBLE (I also got chatting to someone who used to work there in the 90s for the software company it was designed/built for. You know those Friday nights would have been WILD).

The main theme was Y2K/retro, and there were 25? stall holders and about as much velour, diamantés and velour-diamanté Juicy Couture tracksuits as you’d imagine. Plus an hour-long wait for people to get in, which we didn’t imagine (the marketing worked though obvs). A few of us were still a little hungover from the first Ed Hardy trend (I.e. not our style of clothes on offer), but it was still a fun experience (and a long day overall)!

✨Dabble-O-Meter✨ 5/7 - lesson: take more snacks and offer more short shorts.

Maaaassive thanks and props to Marlon and team for pulling it all together. The ultimate first-time-organising-a-market dabble 😘

Peep Marlon’s page + GLORIOUS pics from @spikesight ‘s shoot a few weeks ago and @leila.pesino ‘s snaps from the night: https://www.instagram.com/re.ztyled/

Apparently the building has just been sold (for land-value only 🫠) and they’re wanting to change it all, including putting a second storey floor in 😭😭 surely we can all band together to scoop it up and relocate it?!https://www.realestate.co.nz/42933366/commercial/sale/19-sheffield-crescent-burnside

Hiii Dabblers! This issues (series of fortunate) events are a bit different (not just limited to this week), inspired by the lovely ✨Eileen✨ - one half of the force behind (my fave recent hobbsession) Ōtautahi Preloved Clothing Markets... RUNNING! 🏃 I knowww, you've got opinions (and so do I), but, dare I say it, she makes a solid case. I almost want to get up early on Sat... I'd say it's more a hobby than a sport- what do you think? Hobby? Sport? Both? (Spobby?) Neither? Either way, time to...

Hellooooo my darling Dabblers! I choose to believe you thought about me at least once over the last couple of weeks- probably at 12:12pm when you realised your inbox was lonely (dabbleless? dabbless?), then immediately forgot when you realised your mouth was lonely (snackless? (what's that Japanese word again?)). I also choose to believe that you were busy gallivanting! hurkle-durkling! nanty narking!? Which I'm totally OK with. No, honestly, I encourage! Nay, I insist! I just needed a...
