Mending ❄️ boots, πŸ₯£ bowls, and πŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ souls, and seeing the city with a different lens πŸ“·

Hiii Dabblers!

It's my birthday week! And what better way to celebrate than getting my hair did (by the lovely ✨Hannah✨ from Kitche), then taking the (b)day off to partake in a Kintsugi workshop, and then shmoozing [read: stuffing food in my face and avoiding eye contact, so no-one talks to me] at the ArchiPro Home Design evening. Plus, Go Green and beginning to organise my ✨entire existence✨, ready to move 😬
I'm really looking forward to creating a space to permanently set up my sewing machine
(there was not room in the caravan or the cottage) and yoga mat and art/craft gear 😊

Tell me what you've got goin' on this week!

If you're like every other person on the dating apps who can be found inhaling geosmin and occupying DOC huts on the weekly, this might be up your stream (not a threat, even though it sounds like it...)!

180 Degrees are a bunch of GC's who use adventure-based therapy + mentoring to support more vulnerable youth. They're looking for someone to lead outdoor/high country activities, camps and expeditions- know someone who'd πŸ—Ώrock at this? (App's close Mon 11th, so convince them to be boulder...I'll see myself out)

Our mates over at ✨Altitude Pole Redwood✨ have a little giveaway, for EIGHT WEEKS of beginner-friendly poling! Easiest comp to enter (tag a mate in their comments (ahem, @thedabbling)), go check it out (if you win, take me with youuuu)

🎿 Barely used (apparently, but they are pretty!) Atomic skis, bindings & bag - still Winter, still time to take 'em out.

πŸ“· Massive bundle of profesh-level Canon camera gear - soz, incompatible with Nikon people.

πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎ Vertical mini-garden planter stand (with irrigation system) to become a strawberry kweeeen by Summer.

This week in sporty-hobby history;
06/08/36: Jack Lovelock wins 1500-m gold at Berlin Olympics
06/08/12: Valerie Adams wins second Olympic gold
07/08/97: Beatrice Faumuina wins athletics world championship gold

Non-sporty but honourable mention, nonetheless;
07/08/91: Entertainer, Billy T. James passes away, aged 43 (did not know he was this young). The Billy T. Awards continue his legacy by celebrating up n' coming comedians (since '97), including Ōtautahi's own, ✨Brynley Stent✨ ('21 winner).

Thanks to NZ History and Comedy Fest

"My neighbour ✨Annie✨ is really into Victorian era stuff right now. She mows the lawn in a corset and insists "supper" time is 4pm. I’m just tryna put my wheelie bin out and she's talkin to me about marmalade.” - Lee

Kia Ora Dabblers! Hope your week's been copacetic! Please do smash the reply button and tell me what you've been working on/dreaming about/having fun with/learning this week, I ADORE chatting with you! Maybe my most spendy hobby yet, I bought a whole heckin' house πŸ™€ (well, tbf, I'll probably own the toilet and maybe 1/6 of the kitchen, but it's a start...!? I'm also schemin'... If you'd be interested in being a secret society member of a separate publication for DIY/interiors/local contractor...

Aloha Dabblers,A bit of a quieter week, particularly event-wise, this week (a fair bit of slower paced stuff)...howeverrrr, we are working on an events calendar (a mixture of regular and once-off/limited time events, still all hobby/interest related), so you can forward plan, refer back to, share, and click the direct links to book/get more info, without getting lost in the weeds. LOOK OUT FOR IT NEXT WEEK!(It will be a paid feature in future, but you'll get to enjoy it for free for a while...

Heyyy Dabblers, Happy mid-Winter! Been a weird ol' week, weather-wise, but that's enough about that (ooh how about a silly little competition?! Count the number of times someone talks to you about the weather for the next week and if you've got the most, I'll shout you a chai) 🌦 Interestingly, there seems to be a bunch of stuff on tomorrow (Thursday), I could have filled the entire section just with Thursday stuff (must be something in the air...(that doesn't count)) πŸ€” Speaking of prizes, I'm...
