Weaving stories though words, bodies through dance, and wreaths from those pesky tΔ« kΕuka leaves π΄

Kia Ora Dabblers!
Well, I have THOUGHTS about Death Cafe(and all things related), but I'm going to have to formulate them into coherence (and also chat to Melanie) and tell you later...
Quick check though, do you WANT my thoughts on death, dying, how it relates to hobbies etc?! (I won't take it personally if you don't!)
OTHER STUFF COMING UP SOON THAT YOU MIGHT WANNA BOOK ASAP:
πΎ Wreath Making Workshopβ Fashion tΔ« kΕuka (cabbage tree) into twine and wrangle that into a decorative wreath (while also learning some European string-making techniques). This Sunday's class is already booked, and there's one left for the year after that (6th Dec), so get a wriggle on, if you're keen! βWhere: CWEA (Glouster St) βWhen: 10am-12pm, Saturday 6th December βEntry: $45 βTickets:https://www.rekindle.org.nz/collections/workshops/products/wreath-otautahiβ
CELEBRATING RAD PEOPLE DOING RAD THINGS (that's you)
I had the pleasure of meeting β¨Kateβ¨ from Without Waste at the beginning of the year, at another Green Drinks event (monthly chit-chats hosted by Christchurch EnviroHub), who, at the time, was gearing up for Electric Ave- not to partake, but to pilfer people's trash and HAND SORT it π€― At the time, I knew it was going to be a big task, but didn't quite comprehend the MAMMOTH effort she and the team were about to put in - check this out, 78% of all the waste from the entireweekend was able to ditch a ride to the dump. Just think, even 1 piece of trash per person, per day = 70,000 bits...at least. βSeriously impressive.
Anyway, Kate is an absolute stellar human (I haven't met the others, but they prob are too) and obviously extremely fizzed about all-things sustainability, so I'd recommend heading along to her Green Drinks chat π§π β βWhere: Space Academy (371 Saint Asaph Street) βWhen: 6pm-8pm (2hrs) βEntry: FREE βTickets:https://events.humanitix.com/green-drinks-beyond-the-binβ
π Shoutout to β¨Kieranβ¨ who helps oversee stuff and things across the Selwyn Libraries(Rolly, Leeston, Darfield and Lincoln), and passed on the memo about a bunch of stuff that happens regularly or as one-off events. βhttps://www.selwynlibraries.co.nz/whats-on/eventsandprogrammesβ Honourable mentions: π₯½ Virtual Reality - Wed 19th 3:30pm-4:30pm 𧱠LEGO Advanced - Sat 22th, 10:30am-11:30am (Do those over 8 need to be supervised?)β π² Board Games - Sat 22th, 11am-1pm π Adults' Book Club - Tue 25th, 11am-12:30pm β
I'm trying to convince Kieran that a Library Crawl would go hard (like a Pub Crawl, but less booze and more behind-the-scenes book-nerdery)... What do you reckon?
π€ I'm off to see/hear Tool in AKL this weekend, and will also attempt to scoff all the Wise Boys burgs, smoosh clay at the art gallery, and stroke all of the carpet samples at Residium(interiors is one of my other loves, but tell me I'm not the only weirdo who has to touch everything?!). As always, love to hear what you're up to! Catch you next week!

Hellooooo my darling Dabblers! I choose to believe you thought about me at least once over the last couple of weeks- probably at 12:12pm when you realised your inbox was lonely (dabbleless? dabbless?), then immediately forgot when you realised your mouth was lonely (snackless? (what's that Japanese word again?)). I also choose to believe that you were busy gallivanting! hurkle-durkling! nanty narking!? Which I'm totally OK with. No, honestly, I encourage! Nay, I insist! I just needed a...
Howdy Dabblers! I hope you chose to enjoy your week/end regardless of the weather (or because of it)! Unusually, I spent more time out than at home, with Buskers Festival's Cirque BonBon on Thu (excellent!), shopping for a new bed on Sat (new bed + fresh sheets = one of life's greatest joys, no?), a last minute booking for Re-Loved clothing market at The Bridge on Sun, and there meeting two lovely new people (both stallholders (who I'll hopefully introduce you to soon)) and being invited by...
Kia Ora Dabblers! Welcome back, it's blimmin' lovely to "see" your face again (imagination is a wonderful thing, right?). No time like the present (that's all there is) - let's go the exact opposite to last week's long intro and jump straight in with some oot-'n-aboot opportunities. Have a wonderful week ahead π C.x β¨ THIS WEEK'S EXCUSES TO PUT ON PANTS Friday 23rd January π§ Resonate Festival (wellness, arts, music, community)Fri-Sun- go for a day or the whole weekend, there's plenty on!...
