Feeling nostalgic with Pool Tag ๐, Gameboys ๐พ and Star Wars Lego ๐งฑ

Guten Tag Dabblers!
This week is mental health awareness week, and amongst thinking about what that means for me, a couple of themes stood out to me in relation to this whole (newsletter) project;
โจ Give - Give yourself permission to be terrible at something new. And give my thanks to you for being here, honestly it means a bunch ๐ฅน
โจ Connect - Celebrate each other, bring people together and create new relationships. And for you to help spread the word by flicking this newsy on to your mates (including those who have started a business around their hobby!) ๐ค๐ค
โจ Keep learning - the whole dang point is to offer you opportunities to PLAY, to explore, to be curious and DO stuff. Every single thing we do is for experience, thatโs the whole point of life ๐
โPeep the themes hereโ Also, don't know about you, but Sunday felt like the ideal day for life admin/movies/ dishes/booking future activities/generally hibernating? Or maybe I was being a nana and missed stuff- what did you get up to? On the flip side, this week also sees us (adults) elbowing kids out the way for a hydroslide takeover, and pining over action figures and comic books (I sense a theme - we love some nostalgia), let's see what else is on the cards...
๐ Book Launch - Eddie Sparkleโs Bridal Taxi by Frankie McMillanโ We love celebrating other peoples' dabblings, and sending a book out into the world is peak-dabblature (not to mention the previous SIX books Frankie has released). This is for those that like their prose short, their drama deep, and their emotions served slightly unhinged - go say hi! โWhere: Scorpio Books (BNZ Centre, Hereford St) โWhen: 5:30pm-7:30pm (2hrs) โEntry: FREE (and there's refreshments)โ โInfo:https://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2025/book-launch-eddie-sparklers-bridal-taxi-by-frankie-mcmillan/christchurch-districtโ

Aloha Dabblers! Welcome the heck to 2026! I feel like I slept/napped/rested/meditated/embroidered the last 3 (4?) weeks, which I'm (surprisingly?) quite OK with. If you don't know me personally (yet), I chose to delete the word โจshouldโจ from my vocab, and maaate, it's freeing, tellyawhat. 7/7 would recommend. As well as Turtle-ing (actually, they probably don't do embroidery on account of not having thumbs) I also;๐ Walked approx 60km (not in one go)๐ง Made approx. 5kg of trifle (3.9kg for...
Aloha Dabblers! And a special 'hiiiiiii' to the lovely folks I chatted with at the ลtautahi Pre-loved Clothing Market (and thanks again, Eileen and Lisa ๐ซถ). Howdy Dabblers! We heard ya - the (g?)rumblings echoed something along the lines of "my mind and body are ready for it to be December, but said body and mind are also actively avoiding Westfield from. now. on.- no exceptions."... So we've maintained the same wide event net, with a wee sprinkling of festiveness, so you can choose to partake if you're feelin' it. โค๏ธ๐ A speedy one this week - letโs dive (well, manu) in!
